Vacation

Everybody loves a vacation. But man alive, they can be hard to plan and expensive. Especially with gas prices so high. My wife and I have been talking about going a few different places and to get anywhere it's going to cost us $200 to $300 in fuel alone! Then you throw in a hotel at $50 - $100 a night, depending on if you want to have thread bare sheets or something a little nicer. For five days, you can have $800.00 wrapped up in gas and lodging. That's before you talk about eating out or sight seeing.

So I'm asking this question. How can you go on a nice vacation and do it inexpensively? Something that would allow you to see some sights and eat out and not cost you $3000.00?

I'm open to some ideas.... I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have you ever watched the show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? I've often fantasized about them coming to redo my house. How cool would that be? Of course being a sci-fi nerd, I would have to have a room dedicated to all the stuff that I love. (Star Trek, Star Wars, Aliens, Space 1999, and so on...)

Here are a couple cool theater rooms that people have put together. I admit... I'm quite jealous of these rooms. Also, I give them two thumbs up for cool factor.
