Bigfoot, the Loch Ness, and things that go bump in the night

I've always been fascinated at the possibility of something out there that we still haven't discovered. Something lurking out there, watching us. I mean when you think about it, the possibility is valid. In the 1960's a Coelacanth fish was hauled out of the water by a fisherman's net in small South African town of East London. That fish was thought to be extinct for 65 million years. Yet there it was, apparently only hours earlier, swimming and breathing.

So, why isn't it possible that there may be creatures that we have yet found?

On this date in 1933, one of the most famous and legendary creatures stole the headlines in Scotland. The Loch Ness Monster. While there are written sightings dating back 1500 years, it's on this day that the legend takes off and grows to the phenomenon that it is today.

Alas numerous expeditions have yet to uncover the elusive beastie. Even the most famous picture has been debunked as fake.

Maybe someday, Nessie will come out and play.
