Have you noticed the proliferation of new TV shows that are REALLY creepy? Cult, The Following, Hannibal... Just to name a few. I've caught an episode or two of The Following and I must admit I'm currently quite addicted to Hannibal. To say these shows don't pull any punches would be an epic understatement.
My wife and I were watching the latest episode of Hannibal tonight (via HuluPlus) and at one point we both shuddered at the brutality in a scene. It's the kind of shocking that you would expect from a movie, not a TV series. When you go to a movie, you expect jaw dropping, white knuckle scenes. While TV shows have always had there moments, it was most often reserved for a season finally or cliffhanger. These guys are doing it every week. I watch and think to myself, how are they going to top that! And then they do!
I have to say the quality of most TV programing is really approaching the level of movies. I recently saw a behind the scenes look at a new series and one of the people interviewed made the comment, "We make a movie every seven days." I believe it! The production quality is getting better every year.
Anyway, if you want to get your creep on, check out Hannibal. The actor playing Hannibal is fantastic!

K.I.T.T. Move Over - Google's Got the Goods
At the risk of dating myself, I'm going to admit that one of my favorite TV shows was Knight Rider. I swore that I was going to get Pontiac Trans-Am when I was old enough to drive. The show featured the car K.I.T.T. - An intelligent and nearly indestructible car that could drive itself. I'm sure that if you watched TV in the 80's you're familiar with what I'm talking about.
Of course, the dream of being able to sleep while my car took me to my destination, quickly faded away as I got older. While, I didn't hold much hope that I would ever see the day that cars could drive themselves, the concept stayed alive in films. (I-Robot, Demolition Man, Minority Report, etc.) Continuing to fuel dream of easy road trips.
Well, apparently we may not be that far away from seeing this come true. Google is, as I type this, testing self driving cars in Nevada and California. They have issued legislation allowing Google to bring this sci-fi dream to reality.
Here is a link showing the car in action:

Here is the Wikipedia page for more on the driverless car by Google:

So maybe I will be able to take a nap while I travel... Or maybe watch a movie... Hmmm the posibilities.

Monday - Spacial Anomaly Or Time Displacement & Zombies
Well, it's time to start another week. I don't know about you, but Monday's go by fast for me. Then as I pass each day of the week, the days seem to drag on... longer... and looonnger. Then the beloved weekend is here and in less than an hour it's gone. Or at least that is what it feels like. I'm not sure what causes this amazing time displacement/anomaly, but it sure is annoying.
So, what is your longest/shortest day?
Next I would like to express my frustration that I am now forced to wait until February for the rest of this season of The Walking Dead. Anyone else feeling me on this? What is up with this mid season break junk! Back in the day, you watched your show each week then it was done and you waited for the next season. Oh and don't even get me started on these mini-seasons they have. Really, only 12 episodes makes up a season? What happened to the good ol days when a show ran like 26 episodes in a season?
Sorry... I got carried away there for a moment. All frustration at having to wait aside. I am really enjoying this TV series. I would have never counted myself within the ranks of zombie fans. However, this show ROCKS! So far, I would say this is the best season yet. On last nights mid-season finale, I was sweating bullets for a few of my favorite characters. From what I've heard about the comic series, you shouldn't get attached to anyone.
