CAFFEINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CURSE YOU!!!!

For the last several months, my work day routine included stopping at McDonald's for a large sweet tea. I LOVE their sweet tea. They know how to make it. I like the kind of sweet tea that should come with a diabetic warning. Sometimes, I would get one for after lunch. I was a one or two a day'er. You know you've been someplace a lot when they know you by name and have your order practically waiting on you.

Well, the sweet tea train had to come to a stop. The caffeine was causing my blood pressure to climb higher and higher. It was also causing my heart to do some funky things. However, unwilling to give up my sweet tea, I switched to decaf. For the first few days... no problem. Then it hit. For the last several days, at about 10:00 am.... WHAMMO! Major headache. I had heard of the dreaded caffeine headache, however, until this week was unfamiliar with it power. I mean at times I thought my eyeballs were going to either implode or shoot clean outta my head. The jackhammer going off in my skull could not be silenced. I think I would have rather been kicked in the head by a horse. At least then I would be unconscious. Each time it has taken significant quantities of ibuprofen to subdue the monster raging in my head.

The other thing I've noticed this week is the 2pm flame out that I have. At 2pm each day it's like I hit a wall and just want to go to sleep. One time this week, I did the dreaded head nod and woke myself up before I fell face first onto my keyboard. As it stands, my screen looked like this:

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

I was oh so mistaken about the power of caffeine. I can't imagine how someone comes off a serious drug.

Watch that caffeine... it'll get ya!
